Welcome to Mrs. Ricco's Page!
Thank you for visiting my website! This is a great place for you to find information about what is happening in your child's class. If this is your first time visiting my site, please click on the Parent Information link for some important information.
First, a little about myself. I am a highly qualified teacher who has been teaching in North Bergen since 2001. I am a member of New Jersey STEM Pathways Network, Liberty STEM Ecosystem, and sit on the STEM Early Childhood committee. I have collaborated with STEAMTANK, the partnership between the Department of Education and the US Army for STEAM education. In addition, I am a designated math teacher for the Hudson County Curriculum Consortium. I have taught statistics at St. Peter's University as an adjunct professor. I am also the author of a children's math storybook entitled, Estimation Mountain and the Valley of Tens. I have two children - a daughter and a son. I enjoy reading, sudoku puzzles, cooking, drinking coffee and the color purple!
Now, a little about my classroom. I do my best to keep my classroom a comfortable place where students are learning and having fun doing it. Students are expected to take on a lot of responsibility. They are keeping their work and due dates from different classes organized and independently choosing some of their curriculum.
As a parent, you can help things to run smoothly for yourself, your child and me. Use Parent Portal to check your child's grades often. The Realtime Parent Portal allows you online access to your child's current grades, missing assignments, attendance, discipline, and more. You will need the log-in information provided by the school. If you need assistance logging on or need your log-in information, please contact the main office at 201-974-7000.
Be sure to visit the Envisions website, where your child can practice their math skills and complete homework assignments. The link, along with others, can be found on my Web Links page.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any reason. See the link labeled "Contact Mrs. Ricco".
