hello I am mister Daniel sanzari I'm the 8th grade ELA teacher here at Kennedy School my email address is D sanzari at North Bergen. K12. NJ. Us and my work telephone number is 201-974-7010 for matian to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about child's progress in ela class Ela class encompasses a variety of different things will be doing both reading and writing assignments in terms of the reading will be looking at both informational text and works of literature so both fiction and nonfiction will also be doing routine writing assignments currently we're working on now Reddit writing which means the students are creating stories based on things from their own lives let me show you some of the materials that we work with this is a PDF of our textbook the first unit of our textbook has to do with Rites of Passage which are Milestones on the road to growing up all of the stories in one has to do with the events that occur in a young person's life that allow them to grow and mature and to become productive and successful adults so you can't get from church welcome to adulthood without encountering some powerful experiences if we scroll through just a little bit you can see the table of contents which will elaborate on some of the texts that we have been reading and we'll be reading over the course of this marking. We've read stories about Native American culture like the medicine bag we read Memoirs like you are the Electric Boogaloo and just be yourself and starting next week we'll be looking at some poetry hanging fire and translating grandfather's house hopefully these texts will be engaged an exciting for the students as far as the students are concerned I have been very impressed with them thus far I think they've shown a lot of dedication and resilience they are smart and responsible group I must commend them for that and also I'd like to take the time to commend you their parents for doing such a wonderful job raising them thank you for that you guys deserve a lot of the credit as far as my expectations go students should be logging on to my Google Classroom page everyday and completing the assignments that I post therefore assignment need to be completed in a timely fashion all work needs to be submitted in order for the students to be as successful as possible again if you have any concerns please don't hesitate to contact me I check my email very frequently throughout the day I would recommend emailing me first that's usually the best way to get in touch with me that's all for now I'm glad I was able to take this opportunity to touch base with all of you once again if you have need of me please don't ever hesitate to contact me I hope all of and your families are doing well I hope you're all staying safe during this crazy time that we're living in and I look forward to connecting with you again at a later time thank you take care of yourselves and be well
