Mrs. Tullo's Class: Grades 6-7 ELA and Social Studies

Hello and welcome to 6th and 7th Grade ELA and Social Studies. I am very excited to be working with you and your child this school year!

 

A little bit about myself:

 

I graduated from William Paterson University with a BS in Psychology and I have a MS in Urban Education from Mercy College. I am also a Wilson certified Dyslexia Practioner.  I have been teaching for over 13 years. I began my career as a NYC Teaching Fellow in the Bronx, NY.  I have been a special education teacher in North Bergen for the past 8 years. 

 

Reading and writing is a passion of mine, and I am excited to share this with your child. Please encourage your child to read daily and ask what they are reading in class. Reading books, as well as listening to audiobooks, helps to develop vocabulary, language, and writing skills. 

 

Throughout the year, we will be reading several whole class novels from a variety of genres. Your child is also encouraged to visit my classroom library or the North Bergen Public library. 

 

I am a firm believer in having a growth mindset. Anything is possible with hard-work and dedication. Please encourage your child to change their thinking from "I can't" to "I can't , YET"
