Welcome!

Thank you for visiting my page.  I am Mr. DiCioccio and i have had the pleasure of teaching Social Studies here at Kennedy School for the past 15 years.  You may wonder what we learn in a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies class.

In the 7th grade students will have the opportunity to learn about the American government and people.  They will examine the diverse cultures that helped make up this country.  Some key topics will be the American Revolution, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, and Native American cultures.

The 8th grade students will explore some very important topics such as Civil Rights, the Holocaust, the Civil War, and examine the key role immigration has played in American history.

"Education generally [is] one of the surest means of enlightening and giving just ways of thinking to our citizens." -George Washington to Alexander Hamilton (1796)
